day twenty-seven

Not much time.
I'm loaded with homework.
{thanks Knut and Rolwes... .... ..........................}
I had WSD practice from seven to ten tonight.
I'm tired.
MEGAN BAUER IS A J-HAWK AGAIN!
And I'm psyched. :)
And going to get no sleep.
...
Again.
Rawr.

I'd write more, but, seriously, I almost forgot to blog.
meh.

P.S. I LOVE MY PEN-PALS!! (Sorry I'm slow in my responses!)

day twenty-six

I had to sit outside the sermon in the foyer again today because I was coughing and didn't want to be distracting. But during the Sunday School hour I sat in the sanctuary with everybody else watching the magician that came to perform for us. It was cute. :)

Jordan and I hung out for a couple hours. It was GORGEOUS today! We walked out onto the golf course that got flooded by his house.

I FINALLY finished my chapter noted for history! It took me probably a total of six hours... BLEH.

My parents drove Josh (my older brother) to college in Fort Dodge today so they were gone all day. The girls went over to a friend's house from church and Jason stayed home.

It's been nice and peaceful all day.

OH YEAH!
The WSD girls overnighter was EPIC!
I loved it. :)

day twenty-five

I worked this morning from nine to four.
The entire four hours no one but me was in the building.
I guess lessons aren't that popular on Saturday mornings!
I worked on chapter notes for history class and listened to Roackapella.

This afternoon I didn't do much... hung with family, etc.
We've been looking at old family pictures for an hour or so now.
Everybody was SOOO CUTE! :)

Anyways, I'm headed to the WSD girls overnighter.
Pictures tomorrow.

day twenty-four

Yesterday night THE SKY WAS PURPLE!
And marching band was canceled, so I got to hang out with my band friends at the football game! :)
I didn't know that we had to change out for early bird gym this morning so I did our exercises and played frisbee in my ballet flats and skinny jeans. . . yeah.

School got let out at 11:40 this morning because our cafeteria had some flooding so they couldn't serve lunch. In case you don't live where I do, there's some serious flooding going on around here... not anywhere near as badly as last summer, but still very bad... some towns are under water and schools everywhere are out because of piping issues, etc.

And. I'm still coughing my lungs up.
I worked for six hours today.
We're back downtown for work and I LOVE IT THERE!
:)

day twenty-three

It's been raining ALL DAY LONG.
It's kind of annoying.... :/
Classes were fine today.
Nothing really special except religion discussion in LA (we're studying the Puritans) and that will definitely turn out to be a very interesting class. :)

The first football game on the new turf at Kingston stadium versus Xavier is tonight.
I think I'm going if the game is still on. I mean, seriously, there's been so much rain that it's flooding streets EVERYWHERE. Ugh.
We'll see.

I got home and checked the mail.
I GOT A LETTER!!!! :)
Only problem is... all the mail was soaked...

P.S. My new obsession is the new Jason Robert Brown Musical "13." YOUTUBE IT! :)

day twenty-two

MY BIG SISTER JOY CAME HOME TODAY!!!
I got to see her when she came back from going out with my parents.
She spent several months living in Strausbourg, France nanny for a family, and spent the summer with them at two of their residences on islands in Greece.

I'm SOO GLAD SHE'S BACK!
She's my safety net to fall on when I desperately need someone to talk to. :)
All five of the girls in my family were home today.
And yes, we're goofballs. XD

day twenty-one

First day of school my junior year.
I'm taking Chemisty, Orchestra, Advanced Pre-Calculus, French 3, Select Women's Choir, AP Lang & Comp, AP US History, Westside (show choir), and Meistersingers.
Needless to say, I have a very full schedule.

I met Nasco today. He's a foreign exchange student from Bulgaria who's staying with friends from our church who have no high school student, so I get to show him around to his classes this week.

I have homework from AP LA already. Ugh.
I got to see Jordan again today, though.
We hung out at my house for a while then went over to his house and watched The Little Mermaid. :) We've been together for three months today. :)

I saw this car at school and it made me smile.

How you doin'?

Monday, August 24, 2009

day twenty

I coughed all night from three in the morning until it was light out.
My lungs hurt.

Jordan came over for a little while. We worked on our notebooks some more.

I worked from four to nine.
Boring, but I read Ethan From (again) and wrote some letters. Texted people and sketched out scrapbook ideas. I bought a Mt. Dew and thought as lot. Met my boss. I think she loves me. :)

I HAVE A GOOD ID PICTURE!!
That made my day. :)

work.

day nineteen

I'm sick with a cold... ugh.
I got it during show choir week and I still have it... bleh.
Oh well.

Church was this morning.
Hye-eun, Trinity and I sat outside of the service because I didn't want to be distracting by hacking all the time. Trinity bluetoothed me some songs/ringtones. We tried to watch little kids while parents were in a meeting.
Epic. Fail.

Hy-Vee Drug Store doesn't sell Hershey's Ice Cream Shell. We checked.

Jordan came over (he's sick too. And it didn't happen how you think! lol. We're sick with different things!) We messed around in the stamp room. We're both in the process of creating out U.S. history notebooks for school.

we called Hy-Vee Drugstore.

mine.

Jordan's.

day eighteen

I LOVE MY FRIENDS!
We met today at three p.m. at the Mini-Mart and then went to the docks/fishing jetty's to hang out. We brought blankets and food and chilled out. I was a GORGEOUS DAY! And we had LOADS of fun.

Here are a bunch of picture from the day. :)

day seventeen

SHOW CHOIR WEEK IS OVER!!!!!
YESSS!!!!!!!!!!
:D

Anyways, today was our last day with Antwon (our choreographer) and we didn't really do a whole lot. We cleaned some of our numbers and had nice long breaks. I went to Panera with Kristin for lunch.

At five-thirty we performed for our parents and friends and then had a pot-luck-type dinner afterwards. It was really fun to see our friends after being away for a little while!

Megan came to watch the performance, so we decided to go to Palo and sit on the dock and watch the sunset. It was GORGEOUS and fun. I love her sooooo much! She's my everything. :) (Kind of an inside joke).

Pictures?
I think so. :)

day sixteen

Guess what I did today?
*Show Choir??*
How'd you know?!

LOL.

We learned the girls number in the morning and then cleaned a lot of the moves. It's really coming together, actually! I'm very excited!

Show choir is like family... I LOVE it. The people in WSD are some of the most awesome people I have ever met. There were SOOO many times when I wish I had a video camera with me--completely priceless moments every day. XD

Anyways, this whole dancing-all-day-thing is really killing me, so I'm going to go soak in a tub and then sleep.

Here's one of the funny things that happened today.

Jordan (my boyfriend) was playing marimba (as always) and Rachel, Keaton, Reader (last name, but everybody calls him that--lol) and I started moving the marimba while he was playing it... then I jumped on his back while he was STILL playing... then Rachel started moving the marimba again and Jordan finally gave up. lol.

Wednesday, August 19, 2009

day fifteen

Show choir all day... again.
We learned our tap number (the last song) and it's pretty cool.
Not my favourite... but, oh well.
My arms, chest, and back hurt like CRAZY and it's hard to move sometimes... but it's nice to be in Westside. :)

Anyways, Not much to say because I've been at home only a couple hours...
Sleep is good!
Lol.

we eat dinner at a HUGE table in the choir room
this is Cody Hancock. He's a sophmore... and he has frosting on his face.

Interestingly enough, many other people ended up with the same fate. hehe.
And Aaron... I believe he said something like, "who wants to see if they can fit an entire cupcake in their mouth?!"
And then proceeded to put another one in after this one. LOL.

day fourteen

This week, I don't think very many (or very interesting) pictures are going to happen...
We learned the dance to the first two numbers of our show and they're AMAZING, but pretty hard... I stand on these insane boxed most of the time... they're pretty cool. And Justin Cervantes is my partner, so I'm pretty happy about that. :)

Today was long, and I was sweating a lot, but I'm really excited about our show this year.
WSD (West Side Delegation) is gonna rock it!

Monday, August 17, 2009

day thirteen

I can't believe it's only been thirteen days... it seems like MUCH longer.
My emotions have just been going crazy all day...

We had our first Westside Delegation Rehearsal today at school...
This entire week we have rehearsals planned from 9a.m. to 9p.m.
It's going to be looonnngg. :/
Oh well, the people are INSANELY AMAZING! And the group is a hoot!
:)

After rehearsal, the people that are auditioning for All-State stayed around and worked on a piece of music. Then, before we left, the ones that had gone to All-State camps got up and sang to "Let Everything that Hath Breath" and broke out dancing. It was adorable, hilarious, and quite awesome. Choir is amazing! :)

Sunday, August 16, 2009

day twelve

My mom had her stamp show today.
I worked in the baby nursery at church.
Two of my little cousins are over, as well as my aunt and my grandma (Ipa).
It's Bear's last Sunday here at out church as our youth intern and we're having a scavenger hunt at church. :)

my youth pastor in an intense game of four square.

We played "bigger or better" at youth group--started out with a penny and went to people's houses asking if we could trade our item for something bigger or better. This is Courtney riding our second to last item, a trike. We then traded the trike for a tv. LOL.

My friend Jake (who's house we stopped at and traded a quarter for a blank CD) came running down the street to show me that his stearing wheel had a sign that said "squeeze me" in three different languages. LOL!

Saturday, August 15, 2009

day eleven

I didn't do much today...
Came home from the sleepover and cleaned.
Hung out with Jordan.

And when I continues to clean I was soo intrigued with the bubble wrap I had to jump on it.... and so did Jason (my little brother).

Friday, August 14, 2009

day ten

Yeah, I'm one day late.
I was barely home at all yesterday and just decided to blog today for both days.
(but I can cheat on the date, so you'd never know! ;)

Worked for three hours.
Where do I work?
The Cedar Rapids Symphony School--currently located at Zion Lutheran in Hiawatha due to the flood.
What do I do?
I sit at a desk and stare at the wall.
Seriously.
And I get paid for it!
:)

Thenn, I went to the Sweet Corn Festival with friends and watched our friends' band (Red Ink) play a show.

Then sleepover at Jenn(y)'s in a tent with five other girls.
I have the best friends ever.
:)

Thursday, August 13, 2009

day nine

I had four hours of sleep last night... lol.
I woke up at seven and made eggs. :)

Then I went with Megan to shoot Anders' senior pictures.
It was a blast! (As always)
Here are a couple pictures that I got with my camera;;

My first day of work is tomorrow.
I'm a supervisor at the Cedar Rapids Symphony School--whoohoo!!

Anndd, Kayla K. is coming to spend the night tonight!
:)

Wednesday, August 12, 2009

day eight

Storm came over today and we went to the pool with my dad and three little siblings.
I got a tan! :)

And.
I GOT A CELLLLL PHONEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
AHHH!!
:)

Yes, I have to pay for it.
It's purple! <3

Anyways, after youth group we went to Starbucks (as always) and now Trinity and Storm are over for the night. :)

Here are a couple pictures from the night;;

The girls were having fun.
While the boys were... awkwardly staring at the wall.
lol. I have the greatest youth group.
:D

Tuesday, August 11, 2009

day seven

School Supply Shopping... oh my.
I got new mirrors!
Annnndd, I'm going to be getting my own room!
WHOOHOO!!!
:)

Jordan came over, then I went over to his house.
We went on a walk through Jones Park.
The sunset was amazing.

We came back over by house to Cherry Hill Park where we watched the slightly non-existent meteor shower that was supposed to be happening... it was still fun, though. :)

day six

Interesting day...
(I'll probably say that a lot...)

I went to sleep around 4:00 a.m., woke up at 8:45 a.m. to say goodbye to Leslie who spent the night, then slept until 2:00 p.m. Yes, I AM lazy. XD

Well, I watched 27 dresses and Sweet Home Alabama and played Mario Kart Wii AND whooped up on my little brother who is AMAZING at racing games. lol. I know, I should be ashamed... but I was pretty proud.

Needless to say, I did nothing of importance, so, I figured, I have a camera... why not use it?? haha. This was the result of my boredom;;

my hair isn't actually red--it's just the powers of editing. :)

Oh, and my mom told me that I had to vacuum the living room before she got back from filling up the car with gas and it was just my luck that the plug WOULD NOT STAY IN THE WALL!!! I was quite frustrated. So, I did the only reasonable thing I could think of; took duct tape and taped it to the wall! It worked surprisingly well. :)

day five

Today is a great day for many reasons; it's Sunday, I got to play in the worship band at church, I saw my friends, etc.

But here are a few of the things that made today fun;

1. The garage band at church played for the "Special Music" and they're sooo cute!

2. I got to take pictures in the bathroom mirror at church with Leslie and Hye-eun--ALWAYS a favourite. :)

3. It rained WHILE it was sunny!!

4. The sky looked pretty awesome
5. I looked in the refrigerator and I found this egg all by it's lonesome, cut out from the rest... it was stuck to the cardboard!
6. Annndd, I started to make the notebook where I keep all the dates I've written to my pen-pals, their addresses and birthdays, etc. and it's going to look cool. :)
